I had leftover Flemings ribeye with Denny's scramble eggs..  Kid wanted waffles and pancakes for dinner (go figure), wife not home so off we go to Denny's.  Paired with trader joes Pinot, not a bad meal.

I baked a Potatoes au Gratin with chopped ham in it, haricot verts and garlic bread on the side. If I can get up, I will open the new box of multi-pack dumpling maker / dough press / empanada thingies I just bought and make them some mini fried apple pies. Except, I don't think I can get up. I will just stay online and look busy instead.

Desert will be Beards Papas from Mochilato,  wife's girl night out equals junk food for me and the little one

Owning Donut Star doesn't mean he works there, Homer is at the nuclear reactor...
Yeah... he has to pay for that non-profitable business somehow.

That's why I can't own a Donut Star, like the real Homer... I would eat all the revenue.

Trout cajun-style with white rice from California Fish Grill.

Orange roughy for me...  Go with the fries, only live once...extra lemon for the fish, and tartar/ ketchup combo for the fries...fried scallops not bad either.

I either get the trout, salmon, mahi mahi, or swordfish all cajun-style with white rice.  I only like fries from 3 places....In'N'Out, McDonalds, and Dennys (go figure).

I'm pretty sure you have another favorite fry, too. I'm not a fry person but tried them upon your recommendation. They are outstanding! You'll have to remind me of the name for when I go back. Parmesan-shoestring-something-or-other?

Fry challenge?  I nominate Marche Moderne's pomme frites... Also like wiernerschintzels for some reason...

Oh yeah, The Counter parmesan fries.  Very good but I only have them a few times a year.  Red Robbins has decent fries too, but it's the seasoning that gives them the good flavor.

Have you ever tried the fries at Denny's?  They are really good.

Found it:

"Parmesan French Fries mixed with parsley, rosemary, and garlic aioli"http://www.thecounterburger.com/menu/

Trojan was right. These were probably the best fries I've ever had.... which is not saying a lot, since I don't eat a lot of fries. If you're picky and want to eat only really good fries, eat these.

Dennys?  I was there tonight for waffles and pancakes takeout...  I'll try the fries next time...

The best fries I had in my life will have to be the crinkle cuts from my old elementary school, with chocolate milk and hamburger,  I will pay top dollar to get that taste again.

It makes me kind of sad reading this thread. All these guys and nobody's wife cooked them dinner. I'd tell Trojan to get a wife so he can have a proper meal served, but what he's reading here probably doesn't give him much hope. Don't you guys want your wife to cook for you or you don't care? Yes, I know. Some men do like to cook and know how. Mr. SoCal can make exactly three, count-em, three things: minute rice, pancakes, and a box of Hamburger Helper. That got him through his long bachelorhood. Thank goodness he got married. He might have had a stroke otherwise.

Salad for me. Time to drop some of those lbs that have been creeping onto this old man's slowing metabolism.

And don't feel too sad for the boys, SoCal...
I'm sure I speak for several of us: I didn't marry her for her kitchen skills.  ;)
