So what will you buy and how much will you spend when it's your time to buy???

Just curious on what some of you guys are looking to pick up (location, SFR or condo, and how big) and how much are you willing to pay as we move closer to the bottom in housing? As for myself, I'll be looking to pick up a 2bed/2bath 1,200+sf condo with an attached 2-car garage in the Irvine area for under $300k within the next 2-3 years.

pretty much the same thing...but I'm thinking under 250k for about 1000-1100 sq. ft

I am aiming for Tustin Ranch right now, but I'll also consider certain parts of Irvine like Westpark or the 92620/92602 area

I'm looking 1M maybe 1.1. I'm hoping to get 3,000 sq ft house 7,000-8,000 sq ft lot in Turtle Ridge. I think the day is coming. Hopefully soon

At least 1400 sq ft, as that's what I've been renting for 5 years. I'm parital to Tustin, but if the place was cute enough I'd live in a neighboring city. I haven't decided if I want a townhouse/condo or an actual house. I like the idea of privacy and buffer from noise, but maintenance of a yard swings me to the condo side. How much? 3-4X income and depending on how much I've saved by the time I find something I like.

2200 sqf+ around $600K, 2-story house with one room downstairs. It has to be in Irvine if I buy before 2013. I've been looking at some area South of Irvine and prices have come down.

1500 sf, 3 bed, 2 bath. Bedrooms upstairs, living spaces downstairs. Hicks Canyon or Myford school district.

Will buy when I can snag a detached condo at 500 to 515k. The time is here, almost.

Heck, you can pick that up in AV right now...

if I can squeeze into a SFR for 500k around the tustin marketplace... i'll be happy. The other 500k will be saved to pay for taxes and other stuff. My house "bills" at that time will be at or near "0" completely.

A resale 3/2/2 SFR or detached condo preferably in North Irvine with Northwood High or possibly Tustin Ranch area (and a slight maybe of Foothill Ranch). Not picky with the square footage. Will put down 20% so as not to pay PMI... so that limits me to a budget of no more than $500k and preferably less (sorry, IR2.) :-

I have to stay in Irvine for now, that is the part I forgot to mention. Don't want to uproot my kid. Dr Laura said children who move often has problem with intimacy or something like that later on in life. :)

Me too... however, I think we'll be waiting a while longer for prices to get down to 1M in TRidge. We love the Botanica Plan 3, but with only 15-16 of those built, the area has retained it's high asking prices. We're in no hurry so I'd imagine in another year or so of modest declines before prices start to drop harder.

wow, thats pretty low. Even IR doesn't think Irvine will go that low.

I'm looking now for a decent 2/2 in one of the areas I like in Irvine for around 350ish.

LOL. Must be true. I was a military brat who moved all the time and turned out a cold heartless SOB.

We would like a 4 bedroom, 2 or 3 bath, at least 2300 sqf, but preferably around 2600 or so, in one of the following areas: Northwood Pointe, Northpark, Northwood, Westpark, or Oakcreek, with a nice sized yard. We're hoping to pay around 700K if it is in a move-in condition, or less than 600K if it needs some work. I'm very impatient, and prices aren't coming down fast enough for me ;-)
