I always preferred slide belts (no holes) for comfort and adjustability (buffet ready). I usually pick up the cheapy ones from the BR outlets on the way to Vegas every couple years. These are the ones that 'crimps' the belt at the desired tightness to lock the belt. Works great but eventually will fail due to leather fatigue being crimped at the same place over and over again.
So recently I switched to a Mission ratchet belt I picked up for about $30 on an Amazon Lightning deal:
