I'm a simple guy, one word answer, easy pleasey, the ends justify the means type of dude.  Just thought of this... Why not put the coffee machine in the master bedroom, set the timer, and wake up to Folgers every morning?  Just like staying in a hotel room...who likes going down to the bone chilling 67 deg icey kitchen floors to pour a hot cup of Joe at 5am?  I usually scamper back up to the bedroom anyways to enjoy coffee in bed with iPad.  What an epiphany...

I'm with you. I've been trying for years to let my wife let me have a mini fridge next to my side of the bed. It could double as a nite stand.

For the cold downstairs, I have my thermostat programmed so that by 6am its 73 degrees.

Was it just me?? As my mind was reading this, it filled in the blank like the above. Had to do a double-take.

I read an article a while back about couples having less sex because they both take their phones to bed with them.

Because instant coffee is disgusting.  I only drink 100% Kona coffee.

Years ago when my wife and I dreamed of building our own home, she made sure to put a little kitchenette in the master bedroom in her designs, just so my AM coffee would be right there.  The attached garage was 2 stories tall on the inside, with a balcony overlooking the lift and work area that connected to the rest of the house.  I need to find those prints!

Wife already at work otherwise morning coffee with her would definitely preferred over iPad :)

Whoa 100% Kona?  How much does that run?  Use to get a half pound bag of 100% Blue Mountain whole beans from Gloria jean awhile back at $35/lb, wonder how much is it now...

I was kidding bout Folgers, we go with Costco Jose's Colombian whole bean for our morning brew, ground the night before not morning of, don't want to wake up my little one at 4am.

That was snob sarcasm with just a bit of truth in the background.  My wife and I are from Hawaii and my in-laws spoil me with Kona coffee on a fairly regular basis.  We pick some up too whenever we go home to visit.  It's about $20 for a 1-lb bag in the warehouse stores (Costco/Sam's).  Oddly, it doesn't matter much to the price whether you're buying it in downtown Honolulu or in Kona.  Costco's Colombian Supremo is usually what I get as well when the Kona runs out, though I think the last bag I bought from Costco was the Sumatra.  It's stronger and edgier than the Colombian.

There are actually several floorplans in older homes that have a coffee bar in the master bedroom. I'm not a coffee drinker but a mini-fridge would work for me to hold cold drinks.

Excellent idea...it's such a pain in the booty to have to go all the way downstairs for a drink when I'm thirsty in the middle of the night.

Ah -- you're Hawaiian. O.k. I remember wondering about that when I met you at JT Schmidt's (sp?) years ago but couldn't put my finger on it.

Example? I never seen one (in O.C.?) That would be kind of cool although I don't know where you would put the refrigerated creamer.... in the "manstand", I guess!  :)

Doh!  Too late, somebody thought of this already...

What's next? His is a fridge. Hers is a mini-dishwasher for all those mugs, spoons, saucers, etc...
