Select Comfort bed?

We decided to buy a new Bed, a Select Comfort but after reading these reviews I'm not too sure..

OK, I know it's normally the unhappy People who take the time to write reviews it has kinda put me off...they do however have a Sale which ends tomorrow..

Does anyone have a Sleep comfort? If not, can anyone recommend a good Matress and a place to buy it from?

Oh and by the way, our Queen matress, for which we paid $1200 about 3 years ago is available free to a needy Home...it seems a shame to give it to the Delivery Guys just to be thrown in the Trash when there is someone out there with no Bed to sleep on...there's nothing wrong with it, it's just too soft.

All they have to do is pick it up ;-)

I have a tempur-pedic mattress. We got the complete system including electric bed (good for watching TV in bed). Very good for bad backs.

We got our bed last xmas from here:http://www.ergobeds.com/

You can negotiate. We got free delivery, no sales tax and $100 worth of free covers

We have a Simmons Beautyrest (cal-king), paid about 1400-1500 for it at Sit-N-Sleep last December, i forget the exact model we bought though. We negotiated down about 20% from the price they wanted. That is one of the good things about sit-n-sleep is that you can negotiate there. Ever since i graduated from college all i have owned are Beautrest mattresses, they are my favorite, i get the more firm mattresses since like to sleep on my stomach or side (so my back wont wont arch like a U). We almost gave in to a Beautyrest Black series, that mattress was awesome, but it was in the $4000-$5000 range and i could not justify spending that kind of money on a mattress. Maybe when we buy a house and get our "adult" furniture we will splurge on that mattress.

We have a king-size Sealy Posturepedic Trueform, which replaced a queen Pillowtop something or other. We love it, both for the "stretch out" space and the firm comfort. They take a couple of weeks and a couple of mattress turns to break in, but three years later and there is no discernible deformation or breakdown. Compared to the pillowtop, which was only two years old and had visible sagging, it still looks brand new. However, there are different firmness levels so you should go test them out. The Tempur-pedics that we tried were too firm or too soft, your preference may vary.

Also, we topped ours with a quilted goosedown pad, which provides just the right amount of pillowing without sacrificing the benefits of the memory foam and keeps the mattress from absorbing anything ;)

Not a big fan for select comfort since the wife and I like our mattress very firm. At its firmest setting, the Select Comfort bed feels like an $200 air mattress.

2nd qwerty's suggestion of Simmons. . . Also bought ours (a King) from Sit 'n' Sleep. They "price match" but the dirty secret is that mattress makers call the same mattress different names to avoid price matching. We are not able to find our exact mattress anywhere local but did find it online for $200 cheaper. Went back and the salesman gives us the difference somewhat begrudgingly. The free delivery is nice...I could not believe how heavy mattresses are.

Another vote for Tepur-pedic. I've have a Cal King for 4 years, and I will never go back to regular matress again.

Have to say... buying a car was easier than mattress shopping! We currently have a Chatham and Wells mattress but it's too firm for my husband. We can't seem to agree on firmness. He's leaning toward the Airloom and I like Stearns and Foster. Check out this website for more information on different mattress types/brands.
