Seamstress recommendation

Does anyone have a recommendation for a seamstress in OC? I'm looking for someone who could shorten several dresses/skirts and dye one of them hot pink. I also have several items that need to be "petitened".

Thanks!

I don't know about the dye job, but all dry cleaners usually do hemming. I find it convenient to do it through a drycleaner so that the clothes can be hemmed, cleaned, and pressed all at once. Hope this helps.

Mrs. Vas recomends Annies' Cleaners on Chapman off of Tustin next door to the Arco.

She recomends you using RIT dye and doing the dye job yourself.

I'm hesitant to trust a dry cleaners to take in a suit in several places, but to turn a long dress into a short one they could probably handle the job.

Cayci - any luck with finding petite clothes off the rack? I'm 5'9" so I wouldn't know anything about it, but my friend is 5'1" and loves Ann Taylor and Ann Taylor Loft for their selection of petite sizes.

I actually buy petite when I can, but it's not always an option. It's just a fact of life for me that I will always need straps shortened, hems raised, and will always look ridiculous in a long dress.

BTW, part of my goal is to make use of items that have only been worn once in a wedding. Gotta love those bridesmaid dresses!

Hey - that reminds me. If you like Cake Wrecks you'd like looking at these bridesmaid dresses.

ROFL!

Graph says "Oh dear gawd!"

Momo, do you have this already for your future bride?

Lucky for me, the worst one was a medieval-inspired wedding. I got to wear a relatively normal dress, but with a belly chain and a head circlet added on. My makeup was also terrible, so no, I will not be sharing pics.

i take my stuff to a place called Buds Custom Tailor in costa mesa on irvine ave near 17th st. he does very good work and i trust my suits there. i see lots of newport nancies there with bringing in designer duds, wedding and bridesmaids dress, etc. they are often behind schedule but its a sign of good shop.

in north oc i used to go to this vietnamese lady who has a shop on tustin ave near collins ave. its in the same plaza as los cabos mexican restaurant next to a pawn shop is the best way i can describe the location.
