San Onofre Nuclear Plant being retired for good

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Yay...one less reason to be concerned about living in Irvine.  This should set the stage for another leg up in local area home prices.

Now I can put off getting that geiger counter, for now...  :P

Edison is going to have to scramble to get supply though. Expect your bills to ratchet up another $50 or so now that they're mothballing the plant. I'd rather they not spend $100m on electricity from other generators out of the State, but put 100,000 new solar roof panels up instead. They will think short term and buy it from Nevada or Arizona, but with they'd act on a long term solution.

I don't get why every new construction in Irvine isn't mandated to orient the houses and install the solar on the roofs.
