Samsung Galaxy S5

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
I have the S4 and an upgrade available so I was planning to use it to upgrade to this phone since I can sell my S4 for more than the $199 cost. Now AT&T gave me a monthly bill discount for a "at&t next" plan so if I upgrade I'll have to go back to my old plan / bill.

I don't think the S5 is worth the upgrade if I actually have to pay for it...

I'm waiting to see what the new HTC M8 will look like --- leaked specs seem pretty promising so far......

The problem with HTC phones and really any non-iPhone or non-Samsung Galaxy S phone is the 3rd party accessories. You can readily find iPhone and Galaxy Sx phone cases etc at local stores.

The other thing is resale value.

iPhone resale values are generally 50+% higher than Samsung
On-contract upgrade costs for iPhones are usually 100% higher ($99 vs $199) so it works out okay. :)

But yes, nothing recaptures cost like Apple products... and Irvine homes.

The samsung galaxy s5 is only $99 at launch?

I really love my Galaxy 3 and haven't seen a compelling reason to buy up to the 4 or the 5. Waiting for the Samsung Note 3 to reduce their price as release of the iJebus 6 nears come July/August. The 6 supposedly could have a 5.7 inch screen making it a strong option compared to the Note 3. Yes, N3 or iP6 are just really small iPad's you can make calls on, but it's great having a big screen to work with.

Both the S4 and S5 have 1080p screens which needs to be seen to be appreciated.

The Note 3 is also awesome... the boss claims never to go back to Apple but that may change if the 6 has a bigger screen. I still like my 5s form factor so I'm hoping the 6 has a bigger screen but a still manageable physical size.

I had a Galaxy S3 and upgraded to the S4 when it came out last year.  I agree with your statement.  I switched to the Nexus 5 now and am really happy with it.  Definitely worth considering unless you are on Verizon which doesn't carry it.

How do you make a call on the Note without smearing it with face grease?  That's if you don't have a hands free.

How do you do it on your phone now?

Does a bigger phone mean you have to hold it closer to your face? I'm confused.
