Ruh roh: Economy Loses Another 240,000 Jobs in October

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
This isn't looking good. Our economy has lost 1.2 million jobs this year: 240,000 in October and a revised 284,000 in September.

<blockquote>NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- The government reported more grim news about the economy Friday, saying employers cut 240,000 jobs in October - bringing the year's total job losses to nearly 1.2 million.

According to the Labor Department's monthly jobs report, the unemployment rate rose to 6.5% from 6.1% in September and higher than economists' forecast of 6.3%. It was the highest unemployment rate since March 1994.

"There is so much bad in this report that it is hard to find any silver lining," said Morgan Keegan analyst Kevin Giddis.

How are housing prices supposed to recover to their 2006 levels so I can we can all tap some equity and buy a new flat screen? Doesn't the government realize that 120Hz LCD tvs are out now and everyone who bought an LCD during the last bubble now has an obsolete TV?

This is serious people. Batman The Dark Knight just came out and I need better black level performance out of my LCD and Motionflow technology for those action scenes!!!

You want snazzy? Buy the new samsung sp-a800b projector. Just as good quality as the movie theater (smaller size throw, obviously). And you can get it for half the American price if you but it in the UK or Korea. Even less if you buy it on a dollar strong day. I have a korean one myself.

It's seriously one of the most amazing pieces of equipment I've seen in a long time.

Edited to add: I know people who have gotten it shipped from the UK for less than $2500.

Wouldn't you have to convert it to run on the US power system?
