I think the white structure in the middle is the community garage. Four houses sharing what seems to be a 30 car garage.  That would provide ample storage for scooters as well.

I'd like to see the car elevator.  I always thought those were cool.

I actually like this.. if the food court is in the upper levels.. sign me up!  And from a zombiepocalypse/World War Z view point.. the higher the better.. should be easily defensible.. good choke points.. and can taunt the undead to jump off neighboring roofs for fun...

The problem with fire is they will set other things on fire and for future survival, you want to keep as much as of infrastructure intact.

The other issue is that fire won't stop them from trying to eat you... it's much harder to fight a flaming zombie.
