Rollout shelf retro-fit

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
SoCal, how about a review. Do the DIYs or contractors?  I've got a DIY in the bottom of our pantry.  They're stupidly simple, four screws.  But fit is the main issue. Don't want to lose space and not sure my drill will fit under the first shelf.

We had 6 cabinets done by Roll Outs Quick.  2 Single wides and 2 double wide,  a total of twelve cabinet shelves.

Quick it was.  Very pleased with the work.  Measurement took about an hour, three business days for fabrication and literally less than an hour for install with the auto-soft close hardware.  Each shelf is fitted to maximize the space while clearing the door and power and gas hardware for the range top.

Since the install, I've been absolutely stunned by how much more convenient they make the lower cabinets.  We have our gas range top set into the counter top with a double cabinet below.  All the pans are there.  Now it's just open the door, pull the shelf out and look down at every pan we have and easily pick it and the cover out, no hassle, no kneeling, no bagging pans around.

Pricing was great too, IMHO, basically, $10 more per shelf to customize and install over ill fitting big box store product.

Also was very pleased in that they worked directly with my wife and provided her with a straight forward and honest quote and good feedback on maximizing the shelving for the cost with the doubles.  They didn't try to gouge or blow smoke on her.

So it was total $120 for your job? That's pretty good... I think we'll call them.

there, fixed it. :-)  roughly $80-110/shelf.  Since I was looking originally at doing all single wides, their quote came in lower than my calculated raw material cost for DIY, and basically on par with DIY when I then remapped to do the double wides with about $10/shelf for the install.

This seems like a great idea. I  was just mentioning something like this in the thread about closets.

I feel that having these would make food waste less of an issue. I know that there are many times that I 'forget' what food is tucked deep in the pantry.  However, with these slide outs, I could easily see what food is at the back very easily.

I will have to keep this in mind when/if I redo the kitchen.
