Retail Openings and Closures

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
New signage installed for the upcoming Ross at Crossroads at Westpark; sadly all the trees in the section of the parking lot in front of it have been chopped down; any idea why and who to blame?

Laventina's and Rose Bakery are two Newport staples. Very happy they opened up in Irvine.
So I've tried Laventina's pizza twice... nothing spectacular but good enough.

The Bakery/Cafe side is standard stuff... a bit expensive but after 3pm the baked goods are 1/2 off (just found this out when eating at Pho).

Been checking out Lake Forest eateries but that's not Irvine. :)

Not sure if we talked about it on this thread but Mastros is coming in to Irvine Spectrum.
whaa? Where?

That's a lot of Mastros, will they close down the one in Costa Mesa?

Also, if I'm going to pay $70 for a steak and $18 for a martini, I'm just going to drive to Crystal Cove so I can at least get an Ocean View with it...

That was a mini-DFs, but pretty good . Mastros has good quality control and bigger menu and will offer a “scene” at the Soectrum if that’s what you want .
I just don't know if that scene will head to Mastros in Irvine when it's just not that far to Crystal Cove?

Or maybe there's enough business lunches that are paid on the company dime that it matters less that it's not as fancy of a location?

Parking is already bad in that area. If you'd rather avoid the crowds, try this virtual tour instead. The prepared foods section looks nice! They also have a sushi restaurant, Waka Sakura, next door. I don't foresee going back to Mitsuwa.

Ended up going, took about 7 minutes to get in the store. The hot food section looks good. We got some food but have not eaten it yet. It is all priced by the pound 10.99 per pound. They have wagyu sliders, which I was pleasantly surprised by. In Japan this summer I kept eating the frozen grape shaped ice cream and I fell in love with it and they had it here so bought a bunch of packs.
