Ok, I won't love my house --- but I do plan to fall passionately in love with the built in BBQ/wetbar combo I will have in the backyard. When the passion for my BBQ starts to fade after a few years (7 year itch?), I'll get some of those outdoor speakers that look like rocks to reignite the relationship. It will be like a 2nd honeymoon.

A home should be a place where you love to live in. Where you'll spend a lot of time, hopefully with your family and raise children in. If you don't love the place where you live, then it becomes nothing more than a bed and toilet. Worse, if it affects you negatively, it can harm your mental and physical health.

There is nothing wrong with loving your nest, or desire for wealth that allows you to afford a comfortable living. Some would say that material wealth is ultimately irrelevant, because you cannot take it with you. But for those with ambition, wealth, fame, power, and conquest are means to extend their presence beyond death, through the marks (good or bad) in history that they left behind.
