Usually if I go to a restaurant with a wait staff by myself I sit at the bar (if they have one).

This has been the trend at a lot of the better restaurants--including bar type seating areas to target single diners who want something more upscale.

I would be comfortable eating by myself--table or bar--just as long as the food is good. The iphone helps pass the time as well.
