So I made the mistake of trying to buy some items at Trader Joe (Culver & Walnut) today ~ 12pm. The parking lot was a zoo. There were several idiots driving the opposite direction down parking lanes trying to snag get parking spaces. If this is any indication, Black Friday shopping will be nuts. I will stick with my online shopping.

I'm hoping Ralph's doesn't run out of some of the last minute stuff I need to get tonight for tomorrow.

Last year I couldn't find cranberry sauce at all (the fruity kind... not the jellied one).

What no jelly cranberry?!?! I love the stuff from the can. LOL... I tell my wife not to mess up the imprinted ridges from the can as she plates it.

I'll take crazy shoppers over puke duty, my little is on her fifth puke today already... School to car to bed to sofa to carpet...  I'm out of Resolve and on my third laundry of the day...  Fun

I think IHO means chutney.

After 12 years of cooking the Thanksgiving meal, I suggested I take a load off this year and we'd just pick up Boston Market. Mr. SoCal said that's fine with a sad puppy dog look on his face. Glad we settled that.

So. Since I'd like him to renew my lease and not trade me in for a newer model... I have a Caramel-Pecan Pumpkin Pie in the oven right now with a crust made out of about 40 mini autumn leaves I cut out of dough and a fridge full of bird with all the fixings which I picked up last night at the last minute.

Ralph's was busy tonight... but nothing was really out of stock... got the canned sauce with whole berries instead of the cranberrie/pineapple/walnut mix they had in the cold section.

Since you did the shopping, did you do the cooking, too??

By the way, Happy Thanksgiving, TI friends! I hope you all get a chance to relax and enjoy the day.

I have been having fun watching a squirrel in my backyard all day from my kitchen window. He's climbing all the trees, standing on his hind legs eating nuts with his hands... err - front paws, and hopping across the lawn with his bushy tail. You'd think it was the first time we'd seen a squirrel. We were very excited that he paid us a visit. I'm about to go paint a peanut butter smiley face on one of the trees after my apple dumplings come out of the oven. They like peanut butter.

Just two side dishes... the heavy lifting was done by my other relatives.

Hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving! The parking lots of Target and Best Buy looked full as I drove home tonight.

More craziness today. I made the mistake of trying to buy something at the Apple Store in the Spectrum. As I walked to the parking lot near Target, what did I see: One man clinging to the hood of a Lexus RX350 and yelling at an Asian woman. She was yelling back "Go ahead and call the police---I don't care!" So much love this holiday weekend ;-)

Tell me you got some footage of this...  How long did the man hang on?

Not as exciting as you think. The Lexus was in park and the man seemed intent on stopping the vehicle from leaving the parking lot.
