That would be a traffic nightmare on jamboree/tustin ranch road.

Maybe they'd make a ramp from the I-5 to the 261 or run the 261 on a 2nd level over the drainage tunnels all the way to the I-405 and make the 261 free between the 5 and 405 to alleviate traffic.

The article made it sound like a low probability for a Tustin stadium. But it could a be a selling point for some sports fans. Live, Work, and Walk to the games.

yeah unless a city ponies up some taxpayer money for a stadium there is zero chance of a team relocating there. like they said in the article, just trying to get leverage on anaheim.  i still cant believe how other cities just continue to help rich owners, the NFL in particular, with funds for stadiums.

i wonder how the math works out: home owners paying property taxes in perpetuity vs whatever taxes the stadium would generate.

Poorly like every stadium deal done in recent years.  Good free new stadium for the team, huge ego boost for the politicians, taxpayers holding the bill bag.

I still would rather have an NFL team than a baseball team.

I understand the sentiment but baseball teams are better for the local economy. 81 home games + spring training. NFL only has 8 home games + 2 preseason.

NFL therefore doesn't support restaurants/bars attached to the stadium unless you make the stadium a shopping mall as well. Baseball can keep bars / restaurants in business.

No taxpayer funds for the Halos from Tustin....

So................... what is the city of Tustin planning on doing with the land north of Moffett (which I think is the upper boundary for the Standard Pacific Tustin Legacy homes)?

Btw........... still no floorplans for the Standard Pac homes? :(

that is an old article. the latest and greatest is that tustin would provide some funding but only if that money was paid back with funds generated from the investment. but essentially no free tax payor money for the halos. i still think there is zero chance of them moving to tustin. standard sports team strategy to leverage another city to extract as much as possible from the existing city.
