[Poll] Resale or New?

Buying a house is like buying a diamond. There are many variables that you can adjust from cut, color, carat, fluorescence or none, GIA or EGL, and clarity. You have an initial idea of what you want and how much you want to spend. Then, you start to "cut back" one area that allows you to add more to another area.
You can get X sq. ft for a relatively new house here, but if you drive down two blocks that becomes X-Y sq ft. but with a better school and newer home. But if one just sacrifices and gets the best school, one will have to sacrifice on Z. Then A comes into play and alters B. Next thing you know you are singing the ABCs huddled in a corner crying yourself to sleep.
I can't explain why I think new is most often better than resale without coming across as very judgmental and pompous. It would take too long to type especially when I have to address many exceptions and acknowledgements.
With that said, I bought resale.
