Can you guys please take a look at this. It would be great if some people from T.I. could send a birthday card to Ashley. She is about to turn 25 years old on Feb. 19 and her mother's goal is to get 2,500 birthday cards delivered to her. She does not have a lot of friends. She has Downs Syndrome. The cards make her so happy. Please show her she is valued and loved. I am going to get my card out A.S.A.P.!

Bumping this thread since the date is quickly approaching. My card is in the mailbox right now. I found a sheet of glittery stickers to put in it for her.

It's really sad to see some of the negative comments left on ABC7's page about this event. People are saying mean things about her mother exploiting her and all kinds of crazy stuff. And how people with Downs are "no better" than those without it so they shouldn't receive special treatment. Also saying how people are only doing this because they pity Ashley. I disagree with that. The reason I love people with Downs Syndrome is because they are Pure Love people. A person with Downs would never be a troll on the internet. They are sweet, sensitive souls. In many ways, they are better than so-called regular people. I just love them. And no, I don't have any connections with them in my friends or family.

February 19 is Ashley's birthday. Please consider sending a card so she can make it to 2,500 cards. She is in Whittier so it will get there quickly if you are sending locally.

Is there some other service like the above (that was the first one GoogleFu found)?

Yeah. It's called: "Get a friend to do it for you."
Sigh. A PM is coming your way.  :P

Wow. People suck. The mother has posted pics of messages she is receiving on Facebook, calling Ashley all kinds of really horrible things. Good thing Ashley can not read and understand it. Some people are missing a sensitivity chip.  :( I can't believe anyone would enjoy inflicting pain on this family.

The good thing is her page has received over 2,500 likes. Also, a celebrity makeup artist has offered to do her hair and makeup for her special birthday party.

But it's not really "me" sending the card. :)

Thanks for the offer but I'm going to try to use qwertyprints first.

Ashley received 2,844 cards! Today is her 25th birthday. Several local news stations, churches, schools, organizations, and the West Covina P.D. participated in the event. A card event was held for her at a local mall. She also received an autographed doll from Elle Fanning. A second broadcast was done last night on ABC7 News.

Thanks, again, to the people in this thread who also sent Ashley a card.

Although the family continued to receive messages from haters (unbelievable), she has about 2,500 more people per troll who showed her some love.

Yessss! The cards are still rolling in. Ashley's mother says several people have requested that they keep the P.O. box open. She has decided to do that. So, you can get in touch with Ashley at any time at a later date and for special occasions! I am thinking about sending her something for Easter. Her reading level is not high but she likes to see, touch, and feel the cards she receives. Her mom helps her with each one.

She is so cute. Ashley is using Target gift cards people have sent her to buy some DVDs and a new player. (She watches movies very, very often and has worn out many players!) Ashley's father passed away. All this time, the mother thought she probably does not understand the concept of death. But when she was watching one of her new movies where the character, a little girl, was crying at her father's bedside, Ashley turned to her mother, and said, "Daddy died." Wow!

Just curious, how do you know the inside info. Such as, her mom helps her with each one.
