Percentage of homes listed that are in foreclosure

Irvine is much lower but it's surprising to see more that a quarter of Irvine's listings are foreclosures. Pretty eye-popping to see so many foreclosures!

<p> I also find it hard to believe that 26% of Irvine's for sale listings are in foreclosure....what sources does the blogspot use for the justification ? The MLS ? If it's true, that's unreal.</p>

the blog says it's from patrick.net which is pretty reliable, who got it from trulia.com. the comments from the 1/15/08 blog entry provide more details and some commentors say the numbers appear reasonable from what they personally see in their local areas. you can type in zip code info into trulia, select the foreclosure box and it'll show you which listings and how many are foreclosures, which you can then compare against the number of active listings. yes the numbers in the columns are listings vs. foreclosures.

Have Gary Watts and Connie deGroot and Larry Kudlow and Ben Stein seen this? Or how about some of those real estate experts, (realtors), that Lansner interviews.
