Peking Duck Doritos? WHAT?

[quote author="Astute Observer" date=1224202216]Is this a vegetarian-safe snack?</blockquote>

I dont know but I sincerely doubt that any peking ducks were harmed in the making of these doritos :p

That sounds delicious. Duck is so good and so are Doritos... so it's only natural to assume they make a good combination!

One of my most favorite snacks is Shrimp Chips

Won't be easy, but you can check with local Japanese grocery stores.

[quote author="acpme" date=1224217041]eff, you can find the shrimp chips at any asian supermarket in town.</blockquote>

Oh, I thought eff was talking about the peking duck doritos. Actually every now and then I see the shrimp chips at Albertson's and Ralph's in the Asian food aisle too. They don't carry it consistently but sometimes.

99 ranch coudl possibly have the duck doritos although i havent seen them personally. sometimes they do have varietys of exotic chips even from brands like lays and pringles.

asian ppl like to put the flavor of meat and seafood dishes into their snack foods. lays black peppers steak potato chips are one of my fave. i guess its really no diff than chili cheese flavored fritos.

filet mignon anyone??

When they told the bag illustrator "Peking Duck"... I think he heard "Kicking D*ck" instead.

[quote author="acpme" date=1224279262]dont mock the product. the avg person doesnt get enough ions in their diet.</blockquote>

We had some in Japan out of curiosity and honestly, it was quite good. I have some in powdered form in the pantry now, waiting to be mixed. It's good stuff on hot and humid days (which is apparently what it is for).

[quote author="Astute Observer" date=1224340461]Salty, obviously.</blockquote>

No so much, really. It's sort of like Gatorade less the lime flavor (i.e., sweet). If you head over to Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa, they have it in both powdered and bottled forms. And do yourself a favor while you're there and pick up some good quality toro, if you like sashimi, or <a href="http://elmomonster.blogspot.com/2005/07/mitsuwa-marketplace-costa-mesa.html">bentos</a> for a good inexpensive meal.
