Parking at the Irvine Auto Center

First time I've been there in years because usually I go to Tustin Auto Center.

Where do you park here? All the parking on the street is full and there is almost zero parking at each dealership. I had to circle 3 times before I found a spot at the Tuttle-Click Chrysler (wanted to check out the new Pacifica minivan).

It's pet peeve Friday but I wanted to vent in my own thread.

How do you buy a car when you can't even park there? Gah.

They have spots on the street, the stalls are painted diagonally.  Still not easy finding a spot though.

What are you buying?

A crappy domestic that he will trade in less than a year due to poor build quality, leaky battery,  and possessed sliding doors :)

I just pull right into the dealer lot, near the sales offices or near the new cars. I recently visited about four dealers there and had no problem parking. I think that was a Sunday afternoon.

@SoCal:

I think the key is you went on Sunday. Most dealerships don't have their service departments open that day so less workers, less cars.

I went on Friday and even the dealership lot parking was full.

@aquabliss:

Went to look at the new Pacifica minivan. Was okay, may not get it if the plug-in hybrid (scheduled for October) isn't that good.

Right, that was my point. Pick a less busy day, i.e. Sunday.

Your sentence structure was out of order if that was your point.

That's funny I went and saw the Pacifica this weekend too but at the Tustin Auto Center. Also noticed that the dealer lacked customer parking. They also didn't have any available for test drive. Did the Irvine dealer last you test drive it?

@paperboy:

I was on a time crunch so I just sat it in to IHO-size test it. Opened all the doors, folded the seats, checked out the nooks and crannies.

At Tustin, usually the in-lot parking is crowded but I am usually able to find parking on the street... outside of Sundays.

Speaking of Irvine Auto Center, I wonder if anyone else here has ever met Mason @ Norm Reeves. Heheheh. If you did, you would probably remember.

Oh, Common SoCal .  You need to explain more.  You also need give more details and closure on a long time ago post of yours where you questioned your relationship with your husband

There were a couple odd people at Norm Reeves...don't remember their names though.

Mason is the youngest, or, should I say youngest-looking car salesman I'd ever seen. My brain was in complete denial that he worked there. He barely looked old enough to be eligible for a work permit. It took me a minute or two to put it together. When I told him I needed to speak to a salesman, he said he is one. Haha! I said, "Whaaaat?...You're just a baby!!!" He claimed to be 18 but says people do have a similar reaction. But he is surprisingly knowledgeable and helpful. His father is a race car driver, employed by Honda. That's how he got into this. Mason is really passionate about cars, particularly Hondas. I really wanted to encourage him by making my purchase through him but, unfortunately, Norm Reeves has still has some kinks to work out with their customer service. They just can't seem to get it together down there. I ended up going back to RSM for smooth sailing.
