thank you to Troop for the code lesson.

Anon,

Please do not sit back patiently while the Assessors's Office does their thing. You have to be pro-active with them. It's not too difficult to do yourself. This brings to mind that old oxymoron....we're the government and we're here to help! RIGHT

Thanks, IrvineRealtor. I received the information I requested in a flash. Thanks for your help, and welcome to the blog.

Will do. :)

Lord knows we've got an ample supply of it next to the doggie station...

[quote author="Trooper" date=1208004251]Here you go IR2. OMG ! IR1 has got to see this for the main blog ! Great find.

That song was very good, and appropriate for this blog. All of the minor chords, make it sound less like a jingle and more like something kind of Jewish. "Too Jewish." --Blazing Saddles <em>Oy!</em>

IR2? Sounds like R2D2. (Thanks to IR2 for the helpful info on this thread!)

I saw that, yeah, it had worked before with my putting the whole string in. Oh well!

Thx, ISB

I'll try to help out... Trooper gave me a tip that it's just the string between the <em><strong>v=</strong></em> and the <strong><em>& </em></strong>that the youtube button is looking for.

NICE.

So the online app helps you create the form to sign and mail in. The appeals filling period is between July 2 and September 15th. You will be given a hearing to present your facts. Can someone tell me if I am understanding this process correctly?

JVNA,

You got it. After you receive your assessment notice for the roll year 2008-2009 (usually sent out in July) you'll have the opportunity to appeal.

I just got off of the phone with Charlene from the assessor's office, who was very helpful.

The cutoff is April 30th to send a <a href="http://www.ocgov.com/assessor/">Request for Informal Assessment Review</a>. (The link to the .pdf is in the middle of the page below Property Value Declining) The informal review form must be printed out and either postmarked or hand-delivered by 4/30. The address is on the form.

You will need the three comps that have closed between Oct. 1, 2007, and March 30, 2008.

If you miss this deadline, the next period for e-submission is as you stated.

Thanks to all and good luck again.
