OC Craigslist and MLS

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Just a thought, does anyone search Craigslist OC "housing wanted" for available property leases - and also find those properties on MLS for sale? For some reason, I wouldn't want to lease those properties.

It does raise the concern of renting from a floplord who will skim your rent payment while defaulting on the home loan leaving the renter facing eviction.

Craigslist is also a bee-hive of false advertising. In addition all the IAC's and other commercial properties spam the hell out of craigslist. The more I search, the more wary I become. I think there is just too much risk right now to rent from an private landlord.

i have heard of renters getting money from the bank to move out. so renting from a floplord isn't all bad. maybe you can move in and stop paying him or delay the rent payment, since the floplord is strap for cash, he probably won't go after you for the money either. heheheheeee screw them on both ends.

ethics? isn't that a class in college? hahahaaaa

i am just putting it out there. it is up to you to take the advice or not. another option or another point of view.

The thing to do is find out if the Landlords are current, and have them report to you every so many months. And have the right to pay the rent directly to the mtg company if they fall behind. Of course, no landlord will agree to this. . .

And, of course, rent is about half the price of buying a house here. So you can only do this if you don't mind doubling up on your rent...

Well, if you find out they have fallen behind you stop paying and dare them to evict you.

You'll get to live there a couple of months free at least.

That's a good way to trash your credit. Just because they are deadbeats doesn't mean you have the legal authority to act in a similar manner.

have anyone here seen pacific heights? they got some crazy guy living in a rental and destroying it to make money by buying it or something. good movie. check it out.

How does the landlord not making his payment preclude the tenant from paying his rent? By what logic is the tenant no longer required to pay rent (which is what WINEX said)?

It's all possible through the magic of rationalization!
