OAK CREEK *NOT* A "DONE DEAL"

The Irvine Company has blanketed the city with pamphlets about their proposed plan to destroy the open space presently occupied by the Oak Creek golf course. They are doing everything they can to present this to the public as a "done deal" so people will lose hope and surrender. They even have shills on social media and other shady websites falsely claiming that this open space is not protected.

Ladies and gentlemen, none of that is true! This plan is going to a citywide vote, as reported by the Orange County Register:

We are still in this fight, and WE WILL WIN!

Seems like a vote is likely but not guaranteed. I am certainly hoping for a vote, and if there is one, I will 100% be voting to keep the golf course. Irvine is congested enough as is.

What’s the point of a city celebrating its open space when it is on the city boundaries? Open space should be located throughout a city, but maybe not as a private golf course and instead public (free) open spaces. Otherwise, we should just build homes/businesses everywhere and celebrate that Yosemite is close by the city. If it starts with Oak Creek, then where will it stop?
TIC must know they are making a change to previous community desires or the land swap would be for the same numbers of acres at eat location and not include unrelated incentives like libraries.
