I didn't even realize images were disabled in the forums until now. I've found that setting and enabled it. Thank you for letting me know. Click on the img button above and it should allow you to insert images.

I'm cranky because of all the many reasons listed on the Borat post,

and the it's finished post and everywhere here and there.

And yes, I have nude's sock and I'm not giving it back and I'm not tellin

how I got it.

And until it's fixed, would everybody hit return after they get halfway

to the edge so we don't have to move the bar back and forth.

And, once again, the color is horrible.

Thanks Zovall!!! All the added comics and pics came back! Very cool! Thanks for fixing!

Troop,

Once zovall gets the details hammered out, I'll do another thread or repost to this one... if it still exists. This forum software is <em>very flexible</em> in some ways, and I have used it on other forums, while in other ways it is clunky and obnoxious. Give it a few days and you'll begin to get the hang of it.

Liz,

I know how you feel. I wasn't very happy to see the forum change either, but it's permanent so we have to make the best of it. If it's any consolation, this style of forum is the most popular on the internet, so if you get used to it here you will be much better prepared for any others you may encounter in the future.

[quote author="tenmagnet" date=1207608911]Hey all,

I'm having a lot of trouble adjusting to this new format.

Nude, can you help me post pictures?

Thanks</blockquote>

when you click on the <img> button, you are going to see <pre class="code"><img src="" alt="" /></pre> show up in the input field. Simply put in the image URL in between those tags, like this:

<pre class="code"><img src="http://simonz.web.elte.hu/wallp/promo-vader.jpg" alt="" /></pre>

When posted, that code gives you this:

<img src="http://simonz.web.elte.hu/wallp/promo-vader.jpg" alt="" />

You can then choose the "preview post" or "submit post" button see it.

Nude, I'm trying to post a picture from my own pics in my computer. I don't see an URL, only what I've named the pics. I can upload them as an attachement (no bueno), but don't know how to find this URL you speak of to post in between the img img thingies.

Well, unfortunately some things haven't changed. Meaning, you still have to upload them to a hosting site of some sort just like on the old forums. The only difference is the button you are using and the tag this forum uses.

Example:

Before, your post would look something like <pre class="code"><a href="http://cagle.com/caglecards/main.asp?image=/news/HousingPricesFall/images/stahler.gif">

<img height="369" width="600" align="bottom" border="0" naturalsizeflag="3"

alt="" src="http://cagle.msnbc.com/news/HousingPricesFall/images/stahler.gif" /></a></pre>

and you would end up with

<img src="http://cagle.msnbc.com/news/HousingPricesFall/images/stahler.gif" alt="" />

Now you just put in the image address <pre class="code"><img src="http://cagle.msnbc.com/news/HousingPricesFall/images/stahler.gif" alt="" /></pre>

and you get the same result.

Oh heck. Since Nude is providing free tech support, I'll ask this: How do I post live (clickable) links? In other words, rather than saying "Go to www.google.com," I can just say, "Look here," with the "here" being the link to Google?

Well, there are two ways...

One is to click the "<a>" button above the text edit box. This will spawn a popup asking you for your URL, and it will follow that up with request for a text label.

The second way is just to type in the tags yourself... either way it ends up looking like this wehn you type it in:

<pre class="code"><a href="http://www.google.com">Google Search</a></pre>

That will produce a link that looks like:

<a href="http://www.google.com">Google Search</a>

When zovall gets things ironed out, I'll start pestering him for [member=Nude] type links :coolhmm:

My muse :kiss:

[quote author="Trooper" date=1207645879]ok, I lied z...I do have to scroll on my Mac to see this particular post.</blockquote>
The Darth Vader pic is the problem now. I edited the "code" part of my longer post to add in some spaces and line feeds. Cleared up the problem until it hits Vader, if that makes sense.

Okay...

z, if you read this, I disabled my Darth Vader pic, which I am now going to re-enable so you can get an idea of where the margin is getting tagged for little Mac laptops.

Thanks for your help and the avatar, Nude.

(Natives, of course.)

Now I just need to remember how to code line breaks. :P
