Aw man.  Looks like the thread train has derailed.  The talk of completing the bet is nowhere to be found in the past few pages.

I leave to get some work done for a few hours and WOW, came back and had to read several pages to catch up.

I have enough fun with this thread and don't need $13000 more to entertain myself. Unless 12-mo term is agreed today, the bet will be off.

Just nipping in the booty any chance you were thinking of inferring a similarity to him.  You sure do seem to start posting in threads whenever something negative is said about me.  I guess that means we'll never be friends, huh?  :(
Man - you sure like a preemptive strike.  I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that if you didn't preemptively "publish" your private PM, we wouldn't even be having this conversation.  But it sure is making my Friday go by quicker!
The entertaiment value of this thread is definitely high, but it's time to give it a rest and focus on real estate as we've gone off on a detour.

Agreed. There is nothing new that can be said. Back to the property in question.  ;)
And most importantly the bet.  :D

I bet this was NonFCB's plan all along in doing the "internet search" on your identity. He need some cover fire so he could make a hasty retreat.

So basically you're admitting that this house isn't priced correctly for the current market? Then we don't need the bet since that was the crux of our disagreement.

You know what. I've changed my mind, Indie. You're 100% right and I'm 100% wrong. You win! The post linked to by USC and referenced by NonFcb is very damning. So damning in fact, that he'll never work again a day in his life. Anyone who previously considered using him, has now fled. His work history means nothing and none of the tens of positive comments from his clients here matter. People are just not capable of thinking for themselves. A comment on how he could handle his debt three years ago has completely done him in. Yep. Thank God we have you here to set things straight for us. Now we've all learned the valuable lesson that information should be strictly controlled for fear that it may get into the wrong hands of blubbering idiots. USC, you can always come sleep on my couch if you need it.... when you're not in the bread line, that is - you know, now that you have no future and all.  ;)

Now that you have won, Indie and I am an admitted loser in this argument, let's hope we can put this to bed.

Okay, about that bet.

I think my original thread has gone seriously awry. Although this has serious entertainment value like watching a car wreck, maybe SoCal might want to just close this thread and we can all move on to more important things in our lives.  Btw, Happy Friday!  :)

Backing someone into a corner so that their only response is sarcastic laden vitriol is orgasmic.

Truly a happy Friday!  :D

Oh you didn't miss much.  Let me sum it up for you:
1) USCTrojanCPA publishes private PM from NonFCB.  USC denies the link in question is about him.
2) IndieDev and IHO start to argue about libel versus slander.  Lawyers and legal terms are tossed around left and right.  IndieDev concludes that IHO "hates him".
3) Flyboy comes out of the woodwork (14 posts to date) and starts yapping about credit worthiness and internet rumors.  IndieDev disagrees with his opinion.  Flyboy disagrees with IndieDev's opinion of his opinion.
4) Bones googles USC's internet handle.  USC refutes the search results.  Bones apologizes and calls him a trusted realtor.  USC thinks Bones doesn't like him.

Love the Cliff notes!

Ok, you are the instant winner again. Congratulations! I am just another loser like IHO and Flybuy. I have planted the PM for my retreat. You can remove my cover by agreeing 12-mo term so that I am nowhere to hide.

If I did, I wouldn't talk about it in detail on the internet.

I am simply a man who lives in Irvine, but sort of wants to get out. This is my TalkIrvine persona.

So I guess NonFCB has laid out his final terms and the clock is ticking to accept it or not.  Just for clarity, 12 months from the current listing date or 12 months from today?  Not that it really matters because I doubt those terms will be acceptable to the other parties.

Of course, (referring to the "zero to nil" comment from earlier post) you must also know that while credit report/online search result of candidate/online history and activity of candidate is important, it will not be the sole determinant in denying someone of a job or contract.

Just want to make sure we understand that and not exaggerate things out of proportion.

Depends on what history is found, and what activity is discovered. So no, your conclusion isn't entirely accurate.

12-mo from the original listing date. But I already surrendered to Indie.

The contracts specialist does a background check on you which includes a web search of your personal identity (fact). Your name comes up on a random message board where someone claims they had a bad business deal with you in Vegas. In fact, it's found on multiple message boards because someone has posted it all over the net (whether true or not). This isn't reported on your Equifax/Transunion/etc report because it was a personal deal done with non-enforcible contracts, or no contracts at all. Guess what? Your chances of landing that IT contract are zero to nil.

"Depends on what history is found, and what activity is discovered. So no, your conclusion isn't entirely accurate."

Thank you for agreeing with me that your previous statement is inaccurate.  8)

I was reading and reading but was disappointed when I came to the end and there was new bet about who would win the slander/libel lawsuit

Umm, no. Bad credit and a history of bad business deals definitely falls into that "activity" I was talking about.

Sure, let's clump all that into the activity category.

I'm referring to the absolute and matter-of-fact statement of "zero to nil" in landing that job, you mentioned earlier.

Like you later corrected, it depends on the exact details, which could result in not getting the job with DoD.

Definitely not "Guess what? Your chances of landing that IT contract are zero to nil".

Nice one!

So getting or not getting a contract, is not completely dependent on one (credit report, business history) or other (search results).

But you separated that statement from the body of my post where I specifically stated the "details" which included an individual that had bad credit/business deals posted from third party experience:

So yes, if you take my post out of context, then your conclusion... does it really matter?

Am I missing something here? I know I didn't go to the same esteemed educational institution that brought the world Alexandra Wallace, but I didn't think this particular issue would be that hard to comprehend.  ;)

But hey, as long as you keep following me, you'll at least get cyber high fives from people like "TustinRanch-wish-I-could-live-Irvine-Resident", and maybe Starlight East.
