More like over 23K homes not including OH.  This is a little over a year old From OC register:

Irvine is in another growth spurt, with at least 23,000 new homes built, under construction or planned by developers from 2010 through 2020, an analysis by the Register shows.http://www.ocregister.com/news/irvine-379778-city-homes.html

Based upon that map...most of the development has already happened.  CV and Stonegate are starting to build out.  PP is developing.  Area 5B is the one that's not yet done.  I believe Bones mentioned that there is work being done in PS as well.

It's actually 31,000 homes that are expected. Towards the end of that article Inc posted it says:

"The 31,000-home figure includes 5,806 more homes FivePoint Communities wants to build near the Great Park, where it is already constructing 4,895 homes."

Nah.. but the quote makes him sound important.  ;)

It's like the people that complained about the Great Park development... most of them didn't go there often nor did they realize it was a military base for so long.  You can't expect Irvine to have tons of job growth and not grow in the housing sector.  Those two go hand in hand.

Would have been much better had they turned the Great Park into a quiet airport.

Funny how that airport thing was only supported by Inland empire folk and Newport Beach (hoping to close down John Wayne).

For the IE, they have trained their guns on LA as the evil overlords secretly plotting to render ONT utterly useless.

Ontario airport is a terrible terrible airport.  No parking, terrible food choices, extremely long lines, and in Ontario.
