I have T-Mobile, and my unlocked Iphone just isn't cutting it anymore. With internet use, my phone dies after a few hours.



And since it's unlocked I don't get many of the features that Iphone has to offer.



i'm thinking of the Curve, since T-Mobile's selection of phones is terrible, and it doesn't seem like the Bold or Javelin will be coming out anytime soon. Any opinions?
 
Yeah, the Googlephone is pretty ugly. And I tried typing on it, it is very ergonomically unfriendly.





Yup, no 3G for T-mobile, they barely have the network set up... get what u pay for i guess.
 
Well... I guess the question is what are the primary uses for your phone?



Smart phone or dumbphone? (I assume smart since you have an iPhone and are looking at the Curve)



Need a qwerty keyboard?



There are tons of unlocked GSM phones out there so you don't need to stick to T-Mo only offerings... is there a reason you need to stick to T-Mo other than contract?



BTW: The Curve is a great phone... it's just behind the times a little now with the new stuff coming out (esp the Javelin).
 
Yea, def smart phone, I need email/internet access, the works. I'm weary of going unlocked again, think i'll just go with the Curve, been hearing good things about it.

should have been more specific, its unlocked so I don't get many features, and now the battery dies fast.

I just got a <a href="http://www.motorola.com/consumers/v/item.jsp?vgnextoid=e50e3eb01cabc110VgnVCM1000008406b00aRCRD&localeId=33">Motorola Krave</a> a couple days ago. Has the touch screen. I really love it so far.

The Krave and Storm/Thunder are both Verizon and I believe Shooby had to stay with TMobile.



I think you should try the Behold... it does email and web so it might satisfy your needs for "smartphone" stuff.

If you don't have to stick with TMo... you may want to look into VZW or one of the other carriers that has better 3G coverage. New plans on carriers get you discounts that might equal your TMo renewal... but you may have a better minutes plan with them.



The only Curve that I know of that has 3G is the 8330 on VZW and Sprint... the AT&T and TMo ones only do 2/2.5G.



The Storm looks really good... just a little worried about the clickable screen.

I heard that Verizon is selling the Storm with no wi-fi. That's no fun >:( I may not usually need a cellphone with wi-fi but if I'm without a laptop, it would be nice to have it available. For the price they want, Verizon should have left the wi-fi in it.
 
VZW tends not to support Wi-Fi in phones because they want you to use and pay for their 3G network.



It's not a problem for most people since they tend to use their wireless data most of the time but I do see the value in wanting to have Wi-Fi just in case (which is why I'm on Sprint and AT&T).
 
Verizon requested that the Storm not have WiFi (the original test units had WiFi). The Storm is coming to AT&T next year and that version reportedly will have WiFi. Just another example of Verizon screwing over their customers for no good reason. At least, they didn't screw up the user interface this time.



As for TMobile, the G1 is the only interesting phone they have available at the moment. It shows a lot of potential, but the battery life is horrid. It could be a really great device with another 6 months of software improvements.
