If he has all the qualities that you are listing, he should be fine. I could see that some people would want to marry within their culture as it is easier especially for families with strict cultural practices. Trying to plan a wedding with a strict greek and strict taiwanese family would be interesting. Have him hang out at 24 hour fitness around Irvine, there always seem to be a number of women he could date.

My girlfriend and I have been together for 8 and a half years and we never really had problems from her parents.

edit: I dont think shirmp paste would be as bad as liver pate. I had to drowned a sandwich in hot sauce so my mouth would burn allowing me not to taste the pate one time. So much for thinking all Banh Mi at every restaurant was the same. Next time I wont order 2 and be forced to eat both, haha.
