It's hard to know where to start. Let me just go by chronological order.
It started fine with the salesperson Omar (brother in law of the owner). He seemed to know what he was doing, a salesman. Don't be fooled by Omar, that's where it ends with him. The only time he called my wife on his own after the contract was singed was to tell us the large panel shades can't be done due to the large size of our folding door in the living room leading to the backyard. The ONLY time he ever called me was 3 days after we signed the contract to ask if I sent in the deposit check. That's it. NEVER called or responded to my calls or texts and did not even have the courtesy to call when he missed an appointment to show us what else we can do instead of the panel shade. For three hours we waited. Essentially once he gets a contract signed, he does not care what happened afterward.
Then came the day of installation. The installers were nice. I have to say the different crews that came were all professional and nice. They were behind schedule but very courteous. However, all the blinds were made wrong. We asked for clearview but all the shutters came with bar in the middle. This was the error made by factory. Also the frame was only 3 way leaving the bottom part open. This was the error made the the salesman Omar. Fine, human make mistakes. The installers were apologetic and both we and the installers tried to call Omar, no answer. We were promised temporary blinds but we chose to move in the day after the shutter installation. Now the shutters couldn't be installed, we need the temporary paper blinds. Texted and called Omar to get them and of course no response. I don't care if mistakes are made but a simple phone call to apologize and bring in the temporary blinds would get him the stars and the future referrals. Nothing. I had to spend hours taking the moving boxes and cut them out and tape them to the windows for some privacy.
The did return in less than 2 weeks to install the shutters which I was happy about. A few of the pieces were defective though.
1. One piece has a warped frame so won't stay on the window well and pops open on its own.
2. The frame of the right 1/2 of a double window in the downstair master was a mis-match. making the blades of the blinds open at different height.
3. 2 blades of the blind on another window has rounded corners instead of the straight sharp edges like the rest.
4. Another one has one blade that sticks out too long and making it hard to open the blades on the shutter.
The installers just came and unfortunately they were not told the details that were sent to the office and after waiting 3 hours, they took away the defected shutters and now we're out of shutters in 2 bedrooms again. They did not have the replacement shutters to replace the defective ones.
However, when I called, Cynthia from the office and the owner Allen (or Allan) were nice and they were willing to get the problem fixed. As mentioned, the installers were all nice, that's why overall experience rating was C instead of F.
on 9/29, after they removed the defective shutters, I was told by Cynthia that they already told Omar to bring in temporary blinds as the downstair master which we use as guest room was going to be occupied 2 days later. Allan tried to get the shutters out in 2 days but called me the next day that he can't get the shutter replaced that quick. No problem, but I need window covering for my guest. Guess what? I was home the entire afternoon of 9/30, Omar never showed up with the temporary blinds AGAIN. I was not surprised but that just shows the lack of professionalism on Omar's part. Therefore I'm downgrading the company from C to D (for Angie's List).
on 10/10, the nice installer came back. This time it's the original installer that came in the first time but not the same one who came to inspect and remove the defective shutters. He installed the three replacement shutters but did not know anything about the louvers that needs to be replaced. Again, the installers are always nice and knows what they are doing. The office did not communicate to the installers. I'm waiting to hear their response about the forgotten louvers.
Also I'm still waiting for the $49 refund that they overcharged my wife...
