http://blogs.ocweekly.com/stickaforkinit/2014/09/biggest_mooncake_in_america_irvine.phpMonday, September 8th will be this year's date of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, a.k.a. the Chinese Moon Festival, a.k.a. when people eat mooncakes.
You might have noticed that all the Chinese bakeries are putting out boxes of those dense hockey pucks of pastry, but one bakery (J.J. Bakery) is reportedly going to make a really, really big moon cake for the 2014 Happy Moon Festival in Irvine. The festivities will be presented by World Journal (formerly known as Chinese Daily News) at Irvine Chinese School at 9 Truman, Irvine, on Saturday, September 6, 2014 between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.
Would be interesting to check out later in the day...traffic and parking are going to be pretty insane though.
