Monday, September 8th will be this year's date of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival, a.k.a. the Chinese Moon Festival, a.k.a. when people eat mooncakes.

You might have noticed that all the Chinese bakeries are putting out boxes of those dense hockey pucks of pastry, but one bakery (J.J. Bakery) is reportedly going to make a really, really big moon cake for the 2014 Happy Moon Festival in Irvine. The festivities will be presented by World Journal (formerly known as Chinese Daily News) at Irvine Chinese School at 9 Truman, Irvine, on Saturday, September 6, 2014 between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m.

Would be interesting to check out later in the day...traffic and parking are going to be pretty insane though.

Not a fan of moon cake, too rich, especially the yolk ones.  And I hate the nutty ones.  This school is near Cypress no?

It's pretty big.  Right on Truman.  You can't miss it.  Lots of activity going on.

No wonder why the parking lot was so full in the Cypress Village Shopping Center.  I had to park in the back but Albertsons was virtually empty.  Tsk Tsk Tsk!!!

Hey hey, I ate at Tang 190 with my group before heading to the festival.  My parking spot was totally justified.  :P

I believe they said the tow truck would be on premise today.  Park at your own risk!

There was something going on Friday also so I thought it was a weekend event.

Ah I see.  Now you got me all curious.  The sausage was good.  Perhaps I will swing by again to see.

I'll buy a few items from Albertsons to justify my parking.
