Monday Fun Day - Beating the Monday Blues

M.F.D. is running late today as I've had a difficult time thinking of something fun to talk about.

So, today we are taking requests. The first person to respond with a theme is what we'll go with.
 
So does TMMC count as the first person to respond? And after reading the article... I'm not sure what is the theme TMMC is proposing... what kind of mattress do you prefer?

Or is this thread getting locked? :)

for example, for memory foams
Pro - better sleep quality
Con - unhappy sex life

I don't like those memory foam beds... feels like your sleeping in a marshmallow.

I prefer a more firm mattress.

But I do like the memory foam things as a bed topper (or whatever you call it).  So there is some plushness to it but the firmness of the mattress is still there. We have one of those mattresses like the Westin Heavenly Bed.
 
i know some folks on flyertalk recreated the heavenly bed without actually buying it.  have to find the thread on that
 
We have a Sealy Posturepedic Black Label with Memory Foam Box Top. It is awesome!! It's a coil mattress with a memory foam top covered in a pillow top layer so your skin can breathe. It gives the benefit of the memory foam without the drawbacks of prohibiting any...uh... activities! It does sink a lot more than a firm mattress but it's only a few inches since it's just the top. Perfect!
 
When we bought our bed, we went to Sleep Train, where they have you lie down on this bed analyzer thingie, and it tells you what "color" mattress you should get. They have their mattresses color-coded by firmness. It's probably nonsense, but kind of fun. I think our result was blue, or maybe blue-green? Whichever it was, I like our new mattress much better than our last one (which caused me to wake up with a backache every morning). So maybe it does work!
 
I need a bed where they magically teleport your co-sleeping child to their own room after falling asleep... My Simmons Beautyrest with pocket coils worked well for me even though I only got a half foot of space to sleep on my side.

^ My son still runs to our bed in the morning... but at least sometimes when he puts his feet into my back... it's almost like a deep tissue massage so I don't mind it.
 
Jazz hands is dead on for us, with a little H for hell thrown in.  At least I'll be ready if I ever need to sleep on a narrow cliff.
