Liens on house - how much?

Is there any way to find out how much any judgements or liens are on a house in foreclosure other than trying to buy it? In other words, if a house is not for sale yet but you know it soon will be how can you find the total value of liens attached?

Doing a title search would be the best way. You can also go to the County Recorder's Office and look up all of the recordings for any property.
