LAX and Global Entry

Just went through LAX using Global Entry and it was a breeze! It took me approximately 2-3 minutes to get through immigration, got my baggage from baggage claim, took me another 2-3 minutes to get through customs. It was a thing of beauty.

It used to be that you had to scan your passport at the Global Entry kiosks but now it is all facial recognition. You show your face (no need to get a slip/ticket from the kiosk like before), then walk to immigration, they check your pic and your real face, then you are off to baggage claim. Didn't have to show or do anything at the customs booth either. They just said welcome to the US and let us pass straight through. Easy breezy.

The line of people without Global Entry was long. If you travel abroad at least once a year, I think it's worth getting Global Entry. Fill out an application, then make an appt at a GE office (I made mine at LAX), do a 5 minute interview and done. Very worth it.
