L'Aventure barrel tasting in Newport Beach

Based on the recommendation from a couple of IHBers, we recently went back to L'Aventure for a tasting. It was a high quality wine 5 years ago when we first tasted, but it was great to see the wine selection grow. The rose was just amazing, pricey for a rose, but the best I've ever tasted. Anyway, they are having a barrel tasting this Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the Wine Lab in Newport Beach.

Graph and I went to the 7 pm seating last night. Very nice folks all around. The 07 barrel samples were good enough to make me inquire as to when they would be for sale (May 1). It was good to know that both the 05 and 06 Optimus were decanted 24 hours in advance since we have one (can't remember which). Will I ever plan that far in advance? Probably not, but that's okay.
