Lamest Excuse for a House Not Selling (Plus a Candidate for most spelling errors)

I just read a listing that, in addition to containing a ton of spelling errors, contained the following excuse for why the house had been on the market for 237 days - "TENANTS OCCUPIED IS ONLY REASON FOR LONG LISTING TIME. " Ok, so if they received an offer they wouldn't accept it because their renters hadn't yet moved out? Lame. The agent also makes this statement - "PRICED TO SEEL- $150K BELOW MARKET." As IR pointed out recently, the market is what someone is willing to pay for the house, so if the house is for sale for $1.385 million and it is not selling (or "seeling", to use the agent's spelling), then it is NOT at or below market, it is priced OVER the market!

See if you can spot all of the spelling errors: http://www.redfin.com/stingray/do/printable-listing?listing-id=849915

Bold is my emphasis.

On a side note, in my personal opinion the architect that came up with that roof design needs to have his thumbs cut off with a rusty spoon while staked to the ground on top of a fire ant mound. It isn't just ugly, it's horrid.

Cali,

Thanks for that post. I needed a good laugh this morning and that did the trick. Like you, I particularly like: Note: we are on the market for a long time due to a misqualified and an unreasonable buyers, causing us a long loss of time.

Yeah. It's the buyers that are unreasonable.

I also found it hilarious they used "misqualified" - considering it's not even a word.

Interesting how the house Chuck found also felt the need to explain why they can't sell it. I wonder if this will become more common as time goes on - kind of like the spread of the "This is not a short sale, just motivated/reasonable sellers!!!" line.

By the way, the Westpark house that IR profiled in "Trippin with Hendrix" last year (http://www.redfin.com/stingray/do/printable-listing?listing-id=441544) is still for sale. With 712 days on the market and still no sale they must really have run up against some "unreasonable and misquailfied buyers...."

What is really scary is that the agent listed for the top listing is Patrick Tenore. This guy has been around for 20 years and was (still is?) a highly successful Newport agent. What is up with that crappy listing? Why would ANYONE entrust this fool with their beautiful and expensive home? Why would ANYONE pay this idiot $83,000 to make their listing look amateur and NOT "seel" their house? WTF is a window "PAYNE"?? WTF is "LANDSCP'SEE"? There are ONE HUNDRED EIGHTY cameras???

I'm serious, this stuff pisses me off. I have no sympathy for these "seelers"

if you are looking for an idiot buyer you have to write the listing for the idiots. so in theory this guy is genius. hahahahaa

Maybe he was in a state of despair, about to lose everything, and just doesn't care about anything anymore. Probably saved nothing in the good times.
