For the record, my father is American and met my mother after he joined the Army and was sent to Germany during the reconstruction. He met my mother and they got married there. She became a citizen after moving here after his enlistment ended.

Oh, and as far as political affiliations are concerned, my mother, the daughter of a storm trooper, was a very dedicated Democrat...

And correct, I realize that Obama/Biden say they are against gay marriage....but I don't think that they actually are. It's all about being sold down the river for votes, like you previously mentioned. I actually think we'll see the ban on gays in the military lifted within the first year of Obama's presidency.

It's refreshing to see thet there are people out there that make sense. I cannot believe some of the legislation that McCain and others are pushing. With 6% of homeowners in default, behind 6+% in the poles you would think McCain would have tried to appeal to the other 94% of the country and come up with a real solution.
