Jim the Realtor... Making BK proud and he doesn't even know it

Okay, this pic brought me out of lurkerville (btw, been reading for over a year and I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO grateful for the advice and insight both here and on the blog!!!).

I grew up in San Marino and had family friends 3 houses down from this G&G house. It's an amazing home...such a fantastic lot, too. If you haven't seen it in person, it's worth the drive up to Pasadena (swing by the Huntington Library and Wrigley mansion while you're at it).

So, there's some validation and I feel better as well. Back to football.

Welcome to the IHB. I love San Marino and So. Pas., what a great place to grow up! Nothing better than a beautiful Craftsman home.

By gone era aesthetic is like your youth. Once both are gone they are irreplaceable. Maintaining a fountain of youth is a billion $ industry but maintaining an old home is less of a priority.

There is only a small handful of enclaves that age gracefully to the credit of generation of owners. I search for neighborhoods built after the 1950's other than one or two jewels in the mix many just don't age gracefully.

I have always been interested in homes and neighborhoods being used as movie settings and its proximity to Hollywood OC would be an excellent candidate for movie backdrop. Hollywood seeks OC for its institutional setting but rarely neighborhoods or homes unless it is a show with parody.

Arts and crafts movement, blah blah blah. Nobody bothers to mention that is the house where time travel was invented?!
