Try dumpster diving at Gelson, Whole Foods, and Trader Joes. All three throw out their produce before the expiration dates. Many divers in the green movement are doing it.

Actually, I did mentioned at this forum that I did dumpster diving, and some of the member decided not to come to my block party when I eventually buy a house due to questionable source of produces.
