Christmas is my favorite holiday! What are your favorite parts?
Here are a couple of mine in no particular order:
1) Lifting Mr. SoCal's shirt up so I can stick my freezing cold feet on him. He plays extremely tortured while I die laughing and get toasty. It never gets old.
2) Driving around to look at Christmas lights. We crank up the heater all the way until I'm merrily roasting away. Turn on the Christmas music and go for a spin. For the last five years, we've been making it a tradition to go out to dinner on New Year's Eve (a Chinese place in Tustin I won't mention) and then do the drive. By then some people don't have their lights on anymore but there are a few blocks we visit each year which put on a full display with loads of cars driving by until January.
This year, I've planned a trip to the historic Mission Inn in Riverside to see their Festival of Lights!http://www.missioninn.com/The photos of this place, the grounds I mean, are incredible. Here is a photo gallery including the rotunda and dome. It doesn't hurt that there will be 3.6 million lights on display as well. I'm looking forward to the horse-drawn carriage ride. We're also going to take the Palm Springs tram up the mountains to go sledding. Woo! I planned it all last summer.
