So this article in today's paper was interesting (yes... I still read a physical newspaper):

And I found this article that's 3 years old but has a little more about the technical details:

I'm not a structural engineer but I wouldn't feel safe driving through that. It's only 12 miles and it's not a Chunnel (the train tunnel under the English Channel... which is also scary to me) but I just don't trust SoCal earthquakes and drivers.
Then again... I'm sure people said the same thing about flying in jumbo jets.
