Irvine Open Houses Jan 31 Weekend

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
And while you're in the area of 104 Vintage (if you're with your agent), check out the unit next door for sale, it's amazing and available at a much lower price.

I'm a bit biased though... :)

Open houses decreased in frequency, even in Irvine, during 2008 - 2010. They have been enjoying a steady resurgence since 2011, particularly in 2013.  We are glad to see their return to prominence, particular in the media/information age. :)

@valueoc:

I think that decrease is more related to inventory. Percentage-wise to available homes, I don't think the number of open houses has decreased all that much.

Year over year, inventory is up.

Trend-wise, inventory is pretty low.
?

Are you just confirming my response?

Without trying to sound overly inclusive, I think all the observations mentioned so far in this thread have validity (okay, yes, that statement sounded like I was running for office I realize). From a purely subjective point of view, I notice that not only are we steadily doing a lot more open houses over the last year and a half than in the previous three years, but so is everyone else we know in "the business" so to speak. What we particularly like is a noticeable increase in the consumer participation and the increasing phenomenon of the "open house review" when conducted not by real estate people, but real estate consumers. We would like to see a lot more of this kind of thing.
