Irvine 3rd best US city for families

Of course. We only buy things we like. There are probably many more cities that are just as nice as Irvine to raise a family in and there are probably many more surveys that point it out but we don't post those.

Many thought the other cities in the previous survey weren't worth being on that list either. That brings the entire survey credibility into question.

Same with school surveys. As long as Irvine is tops, great! If not, well it's the way they calculated it that is not any good and therefore not reliable or correct.

As far as Folsom compared to Irvine goes, you may have skipped over a few things in your haste to form a conclusion based on knowing there is a prison:

Per the US Census Bureau, Folsom median household income is $114,405 vs Irvine at $105,126
Folsom persons in poverty is 5.6% vs Irvine at 13.4%

Queen Creek btw comes in at a slightly higher household income than Irvine and lower poverty than Folsom.

Of course they do not have Irvine schools, but they do have highly ranked schools in the district.

There are hiking trails. Is it Irvine, no, but perhaps overall there is a reason it's a good place to raise a family. Not everyone wants to pay millions for a house.

Would I move there? No. I don't have any family there and California is going in the WRONG direction and the government spends every waking minute and then some trying to find a way to get more taxes even when they've got a huge budget surplus. Latest moves include adding fees for anyone with solar (around $65 per month in today dollars) because they aren't paying their fair share after forcing everyone who buys a new house to get it and instituting state and local mileage taxes to make up for EV cars not paying their fair share.......... coming to you sheep in California within the decade, thanks to the legislatures you voted in.

Depends on who you ask I guess.

This survey says Queen Creek AZ is tops and Irvine is 9th. Maybe Lake Forest is pulling Irvine down,

Top 4 are AZ cities and #5 is Folsom? Not buying it.

Arizona bill would allow legislature to overturn election results

So the Arizona Republican bill wants to over turn election results? They also spent over $4 mil on an election audit that was only suppose to cost $150K that led to nothing according to AZ central. (Sheesh)

Sorry no to Arizona.

Politic aside, Arizona is a shiit hole full of rednecks and horrible heat.  No way in hell I?ll move there.

Both of you are absolutely correct. That's why I'm not buying that survey.

it has been a year since we moved from Irvine. i don?t miss Irvine a bit. the quality of life is so much better where we are and there is not much trade off except there are not a lot of choices for ethnic  grocery and restaurants for us. but the last two years really changed our life style so that does not matter as much any more. fun things to do? just realized we can go hunting for wild game here.  also today discovered a less travelled water view trail a couple miles from home, all in the wilderness surrounded by green hills . climate the same, school the same, safety the same?.but way less dense.

still in CA?

It's all relative but if you're looking for a suburban city with good weather, quick access to snow, desert, sea and Disneyland... shopping, job centers, ethnic food, good schools... safe and clean... and pickup basketball games... Irvine is one of the few cities to have that.

One thing Irvine lacks is good public transportation but I see tons of people use the buses so not sure how true that is.

Wow, Huntington Beach was #9.

LOL how was HB #9? I like HB and all but is it even the second best city in Orange County?

Yeah, I grew up in HB and no way it should be #9 back then or now.

That wasn't for best city, but for happiest city.  I'd imagine most OC cities would score high, but they are only comparing the 150 largest cities in the nation.
