Interior doors

[quote author="tmare" date=1242732221]I think Zovall is going to moderate a moderator soon :p

I have to admit that long ago when I was a renter, I probably did more than I should have to improve the existing property. However, it improved my lifestyle and since I wasn't going anywhere anytime soon, I did it happily. Many times I was able to deduct it from the rent and it helped to create a relationship that enabled me to get my deposit back quickly and without any problems. It was also great practice for the day when I owned my own home. Please, give IPO a break on this one.</blockquote>

It's amazing my landlord footed the bill to let me do this...

Much ripping and tearing of drywall. Very dusty.

Dear gawd... your wife should really take your tools away from you. Tools are meant to fix things, not destroy them. Oh... looks like I have her cell number. The world might be safe from the Ipo destruction yet.

BTW, PM me when you move out to fix the drywall you messed up, or I will link some of these threads to your landlord. I can't even imagine how 909 you will go when you might lose your deposit, when you went level ten 909 about your mail.

I need not the services of Queen Kaitlyn:

My drywall has been patched, textured, and painted to match. My landlord was quite happy with the project actually. They got a bathroom door for $200...

I failed to mention to them that I cut holes into the wall to run wires for the flat panel I mounted. They'll find that out in around 13 months!

no offense IPO, but the door you installed is what I want to get rid of. Am I being too fussy? I really think that the two panels would spruce the place up considerably.

It probably matches the other doors in the house.

This reminds of that thread where someone was complaining that master baths nowadays don't have doors. Must have given IPO an idea... and nice work on the flat panel mounting to the right.

I agree completely step, but it's not my house... Had to match the existing doors, door casing and door knobs in the home.

This place was built with the cheapest materials. I think the case moulding was the lowest priced kind at Lowes.

The project did allow me to justify buying this, which I have always wanted but not quite had the need:

A physical door (instead of an open entry) to the bathroom allows one partner to wake early and the other one to sleep in. With as ugly as he is, I think you can agree to allow him as much beauty sleep as possible.

For the record, IPO's handywork has been impressive in all that I've seen. What scared me is that I never heard from him that the upgrades were being considered, let alone condoned by the landlord. I feared for a moment that this was all done w/o prior approval.

Glad to see it's working out.

That's what I think you meant.

I will say this once and it should never be repeated outside of this thread... I envy IPO's HGTV skills.
