Info needed: inexpensive rental with kitchen

I have some friends visiting from overseas and they need a place to stay for about a month. They need a place with fridge and at least a microwave, because of young children (need to heat up milk). Anywhere in LA/Long Beach/OC with convenient access to freeway is acceptable, but ideally the neighborhood shouldn't be scary and rent cost well below $100/day.



If anyone has suggestions, or even know someone with a short-term rental or room for rent (note: 2 young children), it'd be greatly appreciated. They only need the place for about 1 month.
 
momopi, I was going to recommend a Residence Inn since they have a microwave, stove, fridge, etc.; but I checked them out and they are about $200 per night.
