Indian Food

BK and I just got back from an Indian place in called The India Restaurant on the border of Artesia and Cerritos. It was nice, good ambiance, (better than just about any chinese restaurant) food was good and I think I was the only white person in the place. We don't have a lot of experience with Indian food so we both opted for dishes we thought were kind of safe. It was really busy, and moderately priced.

BK ordered Chicken Tikka Masala and I had the Chicken Korma. We both really enjoyed it and are now stuffed. The naan was fresh, hot and delicious and it got 4 stars on Yelp.

**falls into food coma**

If anyone knows of a better place, please feel free to suggest, as I said we dont have a lot of experience with Indian food but Im fairly sure I see it more often in our future.

ohnelly and I went there a couple years ago. We were a bit skeptical because of the name but were pleasantly surprised. I got the Chicken Tikka Masala and thought it was great. Definitely had a food coma as well.

One place that I like for naan is Ambala Dhaba (express). Their garlic naan is awesome. It's been a while since we've been out there but I recall their Chicken Tikka Masala being pretty good (but maybe not as good as at The India Restaurant).

Oh and if you like spicy food and pizza, you'll have to try Julio's Pizza some day. The original establishment used to be in Eagle Rock, then the owners closed it down (after winning the lottery?), and a few years later they reopened (some partnership between the original owner and a couple Indian kids? who used to visit the Eagle Rock location regularly while growing up) in Artesia. Anyways, someone here probably has a better explanation for the story but that what I was told by a friend who used to drive from Irvine to Eagle Rock every now and then for the pizza.

The pizza is super thin and I actually don't think it is anything special. But what makes this place super addictive is this spicy sauce that they offer. Put a little bit or a lot ;) on a slice of pizza (or on the unimpressive garlic toast) and you'll see what I mean.
