Less is more. Simplicity is much enduring than complexity. The cleverness use of spaces in a simple not so big house is better than the wasteful inefficient over scale rooms in a McMansion.

Both are women of (in) control in (of) private and public realms. Private sector always pay better than the public sector ! Both have strict policies and boundaries. I think troop has 2 careers with one set of equipment!

I think a lot you know I joined while we were in escrow on our house and everyone urged us to not go through with the transaction. I was whining about wanting a yard to grow tomatoes, something I have been yearning for for many years. I think it was Troop who posted a pitcure of a giant tomato with a $100K price tag on it. I thought that was witty and decided that tomatoes were a good fit.

PS I now have 10 healthy hardy plants in the garden along with some peppers, cantaloupe, cucumbers, green beans and basil along with an expanded herb garden from my pots, including strawberries. Along with the veggies, we have peaches, avocadoes, grapes, blood orange, valencia orange and a grafted citrus of honey mandarin, meyer lemon, valencia and navel oranges. Also, have a nice expanse of several varieties of lavendar and sage. verbena, nemesia and even the gardenias I've always wanted. The first bud is about to open any day! We lived on Larkspur for many years, so had to plant a few of those. I'm in dirt heaven :)

I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood throughout my elementary, junior high, and high school years. I remember when i was in elementary school and junior high some of the white kids were very cruel telling me that they would blind fold my eyes with dental floss. I used to remember getting into a lot trouble when i was in 3rd and 4th grade getting into fist fights with white boys. This one BIG bully named John England (Twice my size, a 5th grader) ended up beating the living crap out of me ( a 3rd grader at the time), but I remember doing some serious damage. It was quite funny, John's dad ended up showing up to our house and telling my dad, "What did your child do to my kid?" My dad would yell back in broken english, "Your son BEATE DA KRAP U OUT OF MY SON."

When I was in high school, the white kids were a little nicer to me by nicknaming me “Panda” since I was practically the only asian in my high school. During my senior year in high school, some white girl in my art class gave me a big stuffed Panda for Valentine's day. I think she had the hots for me. Her name was Kim Deluca.

I am also a black belt in Tae Kwon Do, and love the movie "Kung fu Panda"

Another funny joke that I remember a white kid asking me in fourth grade. "How do you know when a China man is home?" I would respond, "I don't know, how?"

"You throw a spoon down the stairs and you will hear, "Ching, Chong, Chang, Ching, Chong, Ching, Chang, etc."
