Trump Is Screwing Up the Economy in East LA

The effects of the travel ban go further than the travelers from the seven Muslim countries on the list, Avila says. Mexicans from East L.A. who hold green cards don?t want to travel outside the United States, he says, because they?re afraid they won?t be allowed back in.

Avila has heard from customers who were detained at LAX for several hours since the ban went into effect on Jan. 27. In one case, border patrol officers held a married couple in detention for 10 hours ? both legal permanent residents of the United States born in Mexico ? while border patrol officers investigated the husband over a 15-year-old DUI charge on his record, according to Avila. He says other Mexican-born clients of his were held for six or seven hours.

The travel ban and last week's sweep of arrests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement are sowing panic in the majority-Latino neighborhoods.Avila says he has received dozens of phone calls about the lengthy background checks at the airport. Green card holders ask if they will be sent back to Mexico. People who don?t have papers ask if it is safe to drive family members to the airport.

?People don?t want to travel,? Avila says

Trump is screwing up the economy in East LA (and probably Santa Ana) and the effects will trickle down to Irvine.

Doubtful but if you say so. Nothing will change here in liberal Cali. Well still have a lot of Mexicans and qwerty will be posting about his favorite tacos.

Withdrawing Federal funds from sanctuary cities might change things.

The tight supply in home construction results from a shortage in able construction workers. And, given President Donald Trump?s aggressive ambitions to crack down on undocumented immigrants, homebuilders may have an even tougher time finding workers in the future, according to Yun.

?It?s widely known but less discussed that there are many undocumented workers at construction sites. And with the border being much tighter, it may lead to a greater construction worker shortage unless America can crank out people with the skills in construction, plumbing, lumber framing, and welding,? he said.

The US has approximately 200,000 unfilled construction jobs, which represents an 81% increase over the last two years, according to estimates from the National Association of Homebuilders.

Homebuilders like Lennar (LEN) and Toll Brothers (TOL) have cited a shortage in construction workers as a major reason they?ve had to slow down home construction.

I don't think that's a good reason.

If they can prove that Lennar and Toll Brothers are participating in illegal labor practices, then they should be fined heavily.  Also the decision makers should be jailed.

My builder said there was a shortage of workers because so much construction was going on.

There is no immigration crackdown.  There is nothing that would have not gotten you deported under Obama that will under Trump.  All sorts of false rumors started by Liberal activists are spreading like wildfire throughout immigrants communities across America.  Immigrants who are not criminals and should have nothing to fear are scared shitless.  I hope you Liberals are happy with the trauma you are causing law abiding immigrants.

The new guidelines under President Donald Trump call for the deportation of any individuals in the country illegally if they are convicted, charged or suspected of a crime, which could include traffic infractions.

?Under this executive order, ICE will not exempt classes or categories of removal aliens from potential enforcement,? a fact sheet released by the Department of Homeland Security said, using the acronym for Immigration and Customs Enforcement. ?All of those present in violation of the immigration laws may be subject to immigration arrest, detention, and, if found removable by final order, removal from the United States.?

That includes people convicted of fraud in any official matter before a governmental agency and people who ?have abused any program related to receipt of public benefits.?

Under the Obama administration, the program, known as ?expedited removal,? was used only when an immigrant was arrested within 100 miles of the border and had been in the country no more than 14 days. Now it will include all those who have been in the country for up to two years, no matter where they are caught.

In the documents released on Tuesday, the Department of Homeland Security is directed to begin the process of hiring 10,000 immigration and customs agents, expanding the number of detention facilities

Happy - the Trump administration is enforcing the laws. I don't see nothing wrong arresting people that have been convicted of a crime and are not documented.

Liberal Activists Need to STFU:

"But Santa Paula?s police chief, Steven McLean, said there were no ICE arrests in his town and criticized activists for heightening fears during anxious times.
?What it did was unnecessarily cause fear in my community when they could have simply picked up the phone,? he said, and ?called the chief of police ? who happens to be Latino ? and hear it from me instead of just putting out that press release that just caused all kinds of fear in the Hispanic community"

Big reason why the media needs to have a reality check.

What happened to all those stories about blacks getting beaten by cops?  Did it all of a sudden stop?  Their agenda is now focused on trump.
