IHB needs a resident bull on board

NEW -> Contingent Buyer Assistance Program
Still no permabull volunteers? I guess that my detailed calculations of a 45% drop from peak prices by year end 2009 wouldn't qualify me for that position.

However, I'm becoming more convinced that it won't take down the entire economy. I am actually quite optimistic about the long term prospects for the economy, but the real housing prices in CA will be about half of what they are now.

Personally, as a blood sucking backstabbing lying lawyer, I believe that all realtors are evil.

Unfortunately for the good realtors, their efforts are overshadowed by the actions of the bad ones. I mean when was the last time you guys heard about a good lawyer story? It is always the bad scamming attorney stories that get on the air. However, I will be the first one to admit that there are a lot of bad lawyers out there and they require us to go to school for three years to get our license.

xlm,

The usage of "realtard" term bothered me at first, then I got use to it, then even used it for no reason other than a humorous spelling for realtor. I do want to appologize to you though.

I agree with you that realtors are the most hard working and giving group of people I know. The public, however, do not share our view until they go through a difficult transaction and or post-transaction with us. I am surprised that there are so little write-ups of the profession other than how much commision we make. Could you please comment. Thank you.

That is what surprises me about groups that the NAR. They simply do not elaborate on service realtors provide to their customers and assume that everyone knows about the benefits. A big problem is that there are too many realtors. It is relatively easy to be become one and thus people who do not belong in the business get in.

IrvineCommuter,

I have worked with a few really bad lawyers; these lawyers had no intention of helping. Once I spot a bad one, I take off as fast as I can.

Then I also worked with a few great lawyers and I truly feel blessed.

Going back to the original topic, I really wish Truthi would join this blog (I mean she is already a long-time reader). I get a little tired of waiting for her to respond on the OC reg site but I will keep asking my questions.

I would not want to be a realtor because they do have to work very hard. But, I don't think that is why realtors have the reputation for dishonesty that they have. They have a reputation to telling lies and puffing. And calling it puffing is minimalizing and making light of dishonesty. And lying by omission is still lying.

In my profession, there are three professions which generate the knowing look from another Enrolled Agent; clergy, attorneys, and guess.

I work in L.A. so I'm not informed enough about Carona to comment. Rumour has it he's done something dirty....if so, I hope he gets indicted.

fyi, NIR and I have whispered about the "realtard" name, she knows I mean no harm....and I'm not going to stop using it because I think it's funny. Lighten up a bit mister.

and feel free to call me a pig if you want. This is America.

NIR

Realtor boards have always done food drives, raised money for natural disasters, and contributed to local charities. The South Orange County Board is raising $220K for a Habitat for Humanity project in SJC that is for wounded veterans. The goal is to pay for and build one unit in the project by raising funds as well as working on the sticks and bricks..

That is one charity that comes to mind and since I am a veteran I have contributed several times to the fund. You are correct that these things don't get press but PR isn't the reason they are done. I have personally delivered collected food to families in need at holidays and the feeling is worth way more than any press or "atta boys" from others.

This is a good time of the year to spread a little charity to others less fortunate.

Enjoy!

Trooper

You are waaaay too sweet to be a PIG!

I can't get much lighter or I may float away and not have these exciting discussions.

It is great to be an American!!

Enjoy!

xsocal, while it is great that realtors give back to their communities, most people still do not really know what they do. I analogize it to sport agents. Most athletes have them but most do not believe that they are necessary, justified or not.

Truthiness meltdown alert:

http://lansner.freedomblogging.com/2007/11/27/land-investor-hires-lennar-exec/#comment-35286

Cliffs Notes:

Truthi wastes bandwidth, and I make a constructive post to the effect this was a great hire (steal of the century) by a bottom feeding investment group - a Lennar's expense. Rather than add content that this has been a poor hire, Truthi decides that this is a good oppourtunity to attack my screen name.

Where's Ice Cube post NWA post Jerry Heller when you need him?

Does anyone know what happened to Johnson? Who has the razorblades?

It just keeps getting better with our friend truthiness.

A weapons system so precise it can turn to vapor anyone with an Irvine Housing Blog screen name, yet leave all decent people unharmed. Ah, what a lovely image that was. Pass the Kleenex.

If you have goodwill toward me, then make your comments about me here, and not on the IHB, backstabber. And when you rush right back to gossip some more, ask the “evil angel” why she left yesterday. Please ask her to come back and explain her garbage-picking ways.

I told you truthiness has been here. Too bad, the definition of hypocrisy eludes her. She sure seems obsessed with EvaL these days.

Eh, whatever. I'm not nearly so sensitive as she hopes, and spats are so *yawn* boring.

I'll quote it again:

"The 'come and see the violence inherent in the system, help help I'm being repressed' crew are less of a puzzle than they initially seem. Their own online activity tends to be dull and disruptive, but they think they're entitled to the kind of large audience for their behavior you can only get by being interesting. This is why they don't actually want free speech. All that would give them is the freedom to call the shots on their own websites. What they really want is someone else's audience."

'Nuff said.

Couldn't the OCRegister spend a little money on a web developer and allow us to use the command

like in AIM or World of Warcraft chat?
