I was very pleased that Representative Royce (R-40) opposed the bailout. Although I'm a very partisan Dem, this issue transcended politics and I will be voting for him this fall. I called his office to say exactly that.

If your congressman is on the list please call them and express support for them if they opposed the bailout. If they supported it either harangue them about it or try to change their minds. There is an additional plan coming out from DeFazio with Republican support (essentially the same coalition that stopped the bailout) and you should express support for that as the political environment means Congress must pass something and that's the only alternative on the table. It's based on the Savings and Loan rescue and is a pretty good plan (which is why it gets support from both sides of the aisle).
